Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients of varying ages and medical conditions, adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and developmental screenings, recognizing and reporting changes in patient status promptly.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, understanding pediatric dosages and routes, and monitoring for therapeutic effects and potential adverse reactions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring family-centered care approaches.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, medication administration, and home care instructions in an age-appropriate and culturally sensitive manner.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, charting observations, interventions, and patient responses.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for pediatric patients, preventing injuries and controlling infections.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to pediatric patients and their families during stressful times.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, senior nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform basic medical procedures and assist with examinations, demonstrating proficiency and patient safety.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a registered nurse, with demonstrated focus in pediatric settings.
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State/Country, if applicable, otherwise omit for neutrality].
- Demonstrated proficiency and specialized knowledge in Pediatric nursing.
- Full-time availability for on-site work.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with children and their parents/guardians.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
